LRCA Contends that NZTA's online submission form is Flawed

We request that it be reviewed before we submit.

The current online survey form does not allow a respondent to submit that they support a speed limit of 60 km/h for this section to match the adjoining sections.

Instead it requires the submitter to choose between the options of 80 or 100 km/h or you cannot submit the form!

The online form is the only form of submission they offer.

This goes against NZTA's own Rule for setting speed limits:

• That requires the community to be properly consulted before changes are made

• And that a speed limit of 100 km/h should have a minimum length of 2000 metres. This section is just 830 meters!

Here is our letter to Tod McClay's office, which has also been sent to NZTA pointing out that as the survey stands, it is flawed, and that this situation needs to be remedied for the consultation to properly take place.

We recommend that you do not submit until we have a response to this communication.
