Response to LRCA Submission - BoPRC Annual Plan 2026/27
In its response to our submission urging commitment to budget appropriately for the remediation of the Wall, Council has doubled down on its current stance that the rebuild or repair represents a significant financial commitment for which it is considered insufficient information is available to make that decision yet.
It was noted that an ongoing process is in place to trial and understand repair options and costs alongside the water quality benefits of the wall, including under climate change scenarios, before making any commitment to the community. Council is working collaboratively with the community advisory panel to progress this work.
It was reiterated that decisions made by Council will be supported by the water quality and engineering studies currently being undertaken.
