Recent Trend in Crimes Involving Holiday Homes
Just received the following from Neighbourhood Support:
'Rotorua Police have reported a recent trend in crimes involving holiday houses.
A large group of people from Rotorua are booking holiday homes (mainly through Booking.com) using false names, addresses and phone numbers then stealing property from the addresses they are staying at.
Often multiple cars come and go at all hours of the day and night, and Police suspect offenders may also be dealing drugs from these addresses.
On one occasion offenders stripped almost an entire house – including the spa pool. It is generally not normal behaviour to move a spa pool at 2.30am!'
