Lakeside Community Voice Passes

It is with immense sadness that we acknowledge the passing of long time lakes advocate, Rotoiti resident and Chair of the Lakes Community Board, Phill Thomass. Phill worked tirelessly to be the voice of Lakeside communities. He was a longtime member of the LRCA and a huge supporter and ally in his council role.

Rotorua Mayor Tania Tapsell ecchoed the thoughts of our community saying Mr Thomass dedicated much of his life to the protection and enhancement of the district’s lakes. “His leadership, vision, and tireless efforts leave a legacy that will benefit our community for generations to come.

We send aroha to his whānau. His loss will be felt for years to come.
