Aquatic weed spraying is scheduled to be carried out in the Rotorua/Te Arawa Lakes from Wednesday 7th April and will continue intermittently until Friday 28th May 2021.
This work will be carried out via boat-based and helicopter boom spraying using the herbicide diquat in gel form at the following Rotoiti sites.
Ōkahutoroa Bay/Cherry Bay, Okawa Bay, Te Weta Bay, Otaramarae Bay Boat Ramp, Whangamoa Drive, Te Ti Bay, Te Arero Bay, Tokerau Bay, Gisborne Point, Tuarae Point, Te Ruato Bay, Hauparu Bay & Tapuaekura Bay.
All work is dependent on suitable weed, water and weather conditions and is subject to change without notice.
Advertisements have been placed in the Rotorua Daily Post as well as on the radio to inform lake users of the control work.
Warning signage will also be erected at boat ramps etc where work is being undertaken.
If you have any questions in relation to this work, please feel free to call us on 0800 638 943 or keep up to date with treatment progress on the LINZ website.
