Enrol to vote in Rotorua Lakes Council Elections

Enrolling to vote means you can have a say on the people who will make decisions on your behalf on what happens in your community.

Eligible to vote?

Those eligible to vote at the election are all resident electors and non-resident ratepayer electors whose names appear on the electoral roll when it closed. Resident Roll: If you are a Rotorua resident and already enrolled on the parliamentary electoral including the Māori Electoral Roll for the general election, you are automatically enrolled to vote in the 2019 Local Authority Elections - as long as you do not change your address within that time.

How to enrol to vote?

To Enrol, Check or Update your details you can either

* visit the Electoral Commission website

* send your name and address to Free text 3676

* pick up a form from your local electoral office, Council office or any NZ Post shop

* ring 0800 36 76 56 (who will post a form)

If calling from overseas, the number is +64 9 909 4182 (international calling rates may apply).

Non-resident Ratepayer Roll

If you pay rates on a property in a different area to where you live, you may be eligible to enrol on the non-resident ratepayer electoral roll.

A firm, company, corporation or society paying rates on a property may nominate one of its members or officers as a ratepayer elector (providing the nominated person resides outside of the area).

Ratepayer Roll forms are available here.

Enrolment must be completed by 12th August 2022.
